Elderly & Aged Care Services

A Healthy Mouth is Vital for Healthy Ageing

Good oral health has been shown to enhance general health, improve quality of life and has a huge impact on your ability to eat and talk comfortably. Our needs change as we age and often the needs of our teeth and gums change too.

Chronic health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer's and many medications adversely affect the teeth and gums. Poor oral care may result in gum disease, loss of teeth and severe tooth decay. An unhealthy mouth allows bacteria to build up which can lead to infection spreading to other parts of the body. This has been shown to cause lung infections, heart disease and stroke.

Maintaining regular dental appointments with a dentist and hygienist is one way in which you can optimise your dental health in order to improve your overall health and wellbeing.  Our team is skilled in providing gentle and friendly dental care to the elderly.

Nursing Home Visits

We are pleased to regularly visit residents of the aged care facilities in Keith and Bordertown. We provide this service by prior arrangement with the resident and/or their family. We are able to carry out check-ups, cleaning, fillings, dentures and extractions on site. If your loved one is in a nursing home and you would like us to visit please call our friendly team to enquire.
